Special Considerations:
Our grand lady, Mary Jane, has now been home for six months, and what a full six months it has been! We continue to see new sides of MJ unfold as she gains trust and confidence in her loving human pack. Managing MJ’s health and overall wellness requires daily attention and interventions, but we are finding our routine. She underwent two big surgeries and despite a long recovery, MJ has come out the other side a seemingly younger and more energetic version of herself! She tolerates her daily foot soaks and regular ear flushes knowing that many tasty treats come as part of the package. She enjoys sleeping in late and taking leisurely mid-morning walks to sniff out the latest neighborhood news. She always finds an extra pep to her step when her human kids come along and sometimes decides to run alongside their bikes or scooters! She continues to love car rides and can often be found eagerly accompanying her human kids to and from their plethora of activities. She now enjoys a wide variety of foods including lamb, pork, salmon, pumpkin, apple, peanut butter, frozen blueberries, freeze-dried strawberries and peaches, broccoli, carrots, spinach and sweet potato, just to name a few. Of course, she continues to pour out love and affection in abundance and has even been found gently-but strategically-placing herself onto a lap for extra rubs. Without a doubt, MJ has enriched our family and we can barely remember life without our Lady Jane being in it. So much gratitude from all of us to the hard working staff at HSCC for making this possible!
