NEWS
Happy New Year from all of us at HSCC!
With your help and support, we were able to accomplish so much this past year, and we look forward to doing even more in 2025.
Thank you so much to our amazing community for supporting the work we do - whether you adopted a furry friend from HSCC, volunteered at our shelter, fostered an animal in need, dropped off food and supplies, or made a generous donation of support, you've helped us change lives for the better.
We're looking forward to celebrating a new year full of kindness and compassion with you!

Congratulations to our Top Dog!
Please join us in congratulating our Top Dog, Griffin - winner of our first-ever Top Dog Cider Can Contest! We loved learning about Griffin's story and we're amazed by his impressive spirit:
“Griffin's life was ruff when he was younger. He had been abandoned in the woods, and when he was found by a hiker his fur was so matted it had cut the circulation off in one of his legs. Even with that, he was still so sweet and wanted to give the hiker and the local vet kisses. The vet then wanted to do everything possible to save him and performed the amputation for free. Now he is the happiest, most trusting boy. He doesn't let his missing leg limit what he can do. He loves to swim, play tennis ball, and cuddle... and he can cuddle even closer without that pesky leg getting in the way. Everything is now his favorite thing! He always makes everyone smile. He is the bestest of boys.”
As the winner of our Top Dog Contest, Griffin will be the face & name of Vermont Cider Lab's limited-edition fall cider - keep an eye out for his cans this fall (hitting shelves in early November).
Thanks to our amazing canine-loving community, the real winners are HSCC's animals - with a total of 51 contestants and over 16,000 votes cast, we are thrilled to share that $17,369 was raised to support HSCC's furry friends! We're absolutely paw-struck by everyone's generosity, and all of us at HSCC are deeply grateful to everyone who paw-ticipated - you're all Top Dogs in our hearts!
Thank you so much to our kind friends at Vermont Cider Lab for making the Top Dog Cider Contest possible! Stay tuned for details about Top Dog 2025!
